Grand Opening : Friday, June 27, 2014

The Pembroke Skylight Drive-In will re-open and will be under new ownership!

The Drive-In opened in 1954, making this the 60th Anniversary! Anyone coming to the Drive-In in a 1954 model vehicle will get in for free! (For the whole 2014 season)

Kevin Marshall and his Wife Kathy Lepine are the new owners.  Kevin is the owner/operator of the O'Brien Theatre-Arnprior, and brings almost 27 years of theatre operations to the Skylight! Kathy has been the general manager at the O'Brien Theatre-Renfrew since 1999, and they are both very enthusiastic Drive-In theatre goers!

The first order of business was to install a new Christie 2230 digital projector along with the industry standard DoReMi server to get the largest and clearest picture in the Ottawa Valley. "35mm film is almost completely finished, there are just not any prints available to us this year!" says Mr. Marshall.

As the concession booth was looking pretty tired, a fresh coat of paint in the concession area and particularly the washrooms should do wonders for the guests. "We have a lot of work to do to modernize the kitchen, and will have standard drive-in fare plus new healthy choices as the summer wears on".

We really hope that the "New Pembroke Skylight Drive-In" will be a big hit with local customers as well as tourists, looking for great family entertainment, for a decent price.  From as low as $14 for adults and $6 for kids 6 and over, this is the cheapest entertainment around!

Once the Drive-In is up and running successfully, the couple plan on looking into adding a second screen. "Selling advertising for the On-Screen pre-show, and offering RV and Boat storage in the winter months, should help to pay a small part of the on-going expenses, the original cost of the property, plus the all new projection gear", hopes Mr. Marshall.

"We'll do what we can, run the best Drive-in we can, and with a little luck, good weather, and community support, The "New Pembroke Skylight Drive-In" should keep this 60 year old drive-In alive."
